Sick or Stressed?

Last Thur, I walked out in the middle of a meeting because I was feeling unwell. The moment I stepped out of the meeting room, my head spun so badly I had to grab the first chair I saw and sat down.

I was immobilized, I couldn’t lift my head up without feeling woozy. The "ringing" sound in my left ear became deafening, but I was sure I was the only person that was hearing it.

It was Meniere’s Disease.

I rested over the weekends, I thought I was fine.

Mon morning, I woke up with a sore throat. Tue evening, I went to bed at 10pm with a runny nose. Wed morning, I couldn’t flinch a muscle, I felt so weak.

Went to the doctor earlier, told him about being diagnosed for Meniere’s Disease last week. He said I am too stressed up hence Meniere last week and Flu this week.

.

Me: "Stress? But I don’t feel stressed leh."

Doctor: "Have you been sleeping well?"

Me: "Erm… no… but I always like that. Just that this month is a bit worst than norm."

Doctor: "Do you experience stiff neck or shoulders?"

Me: "Erm… yes, but I thought it was because I carry my baby."

Doctor: "Most patients, like you, do not recognize the symptoms of stress because they are so used to being stressed up that they believed that their lives are normal."

Me: "Hmm…. "

Doctor: "If you have more than 3 outstanding things on your mind, it’s enough to cause stress already."

.

OK… Let me count the things on my mind.

Number 1 – Is Laetitia safe from mozzies?

Number 2 – Mr Hubby’s business venture. What else should be done?

Number 3 – Being away for business trip during our 1st Wedding Anniversary. Will Mr Hubby be upset?

Number 4 – Mom’s health. Will she be alright after the operation?

Number 5 – Am I spending enough time with Laetitia to give her a healthy and happy childhood?

Number 6 – QBP, Workshops, PR Event… and loads of the pending things at work.

.

That’s like more than 3 already!! And I am still insisting that I AM NOT STRESSED!?
